Parkinson’s and MS are life-altering diagnoses that impact countless lives. In Canada, Parkinson’s affects over 100,000 individuals, with approximately 25 new cases diagnosed daily. Globally, that number rises to over 10 million. MS, on the other hand, is especially significant in Canada, which has the highest rate of MS in the world—affecting 1 in every 400 Canadians. These progressive neurological conditions often appear during the most productive years of life, disrupting careers, family routines, and dreams.
Families affected by these diagnoses face immense challenges that are often neglected by the current medical system. The overwhelming out-of-pocket costs for therapies, coupled with the emotional and physical toll on caregivers, leave many families financially strained and emotionally drained. These gaps in care create a void, leaving families to navigate the complex journey alone.
We aim to slow the progression of the disease, and help individuals return to or maintain their baseline health so they can continue contributing to their families and communities, regardless of financial constraints. Our goal is to extend and enhance the quality of life for patients while providing vital support to their families.
NeuroGems’ personalized support connects individuals to essential resources and chosen professionals in physical training, nutrition, and emotional health. Our innovative solutions ensure patients and their families have access to the information, services, and support they need.

Neurogems was founded by Ahuva Zauderer after her husband was diagnosed with early-onset Parkinson’s at the young age of 48 in 2015. Like many others facing a life-changing diagnosis, Ahuva quickly realized there was no clear roadmap to follow—no instruction manual to guide her family through the challenges ahead. With no present cure and each individual experiencing the disease differently, she found herself searching for hope, support, and answers.
At first, her family clung to denial, hoping a second opinion might bring a better diagnosis. But as the reality set in, Ahuva dedicated herself to finding solutions that could help her family reclaim their quality of life. She returned to school to study holistic nutrition, the gut-brain connection, and functional medicine. Along her journey, she discovered countless others silently struggling to survive similar challenges.
Ahuva also realized a gap in the Toronto Jewish community. While there were many organizations to support families in crisis, none specifically addressed the ongoing struggles of families living with chronic degenerative diseases like Parkinson’s and MS. These conditions often strike in midlife, disrupting families and causing role reversals, as providers lose the ability to provide. Children mourn the parent they once knew, and the disease continues to evolve, demanding constant adaptation, acceptance, and resources.
Overwhelmed by physical, emotional, and financial strain, many families struggle to make clear decisions or tend to their collective well-being. Hearing countless stories of isolation and unmet needs, Ahuva met with local visionaries to bring her vision to life. People shared that if such an organization had existed when their loved ones were diagnosed, their lives would have been profoundly different.
And so, NeuroGems was born. No family in the Toronto Jewish community should have to navigate Parkinson’s or MS alone. NeuroGems offers the support, resources, and hope that families need to navigate this journey together.
